INGREDIENTS
- 3 pounds Pink Lady Apples (or Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
 - 1 cup Water
 - 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
 - ¼ tsp Ground Cardamom
 - Ginger (1-inch knob of raw and finely chopped)
 - 2 tsp Agave
 - 2 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
 - ¼ tsp Salt
 - 4 grates Nutmeg
 
INSTRUCTIONS
- Core and Slice Apples: Core the apples and discard the cores. Slice the apples into roughly 1-inch wide pieces.3 pounds Pink Lady Apples
 - Simmer the Apples: Place the sliced apples in a large saucepan with water, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, agave, apple cider vinegar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover and continue to simmer on low heat until the apples are soft (about 40 minutes).1 cup Water, 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon, ¼ tsp Ground Cardamom, Ginger, 2 tsp Agave, 2 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar, ¼ tsp Salt
 - Cool and Add Nutmeg: Allow the apples to cool for about 10 minutes. Add the grated nutmeg to the mixture.4 grates Nutmeg
 - Blend to Desired Consistency: Transfer the mixture to a food processor and pulse until you reach your desired consistency. For a more rustic, chunky texture, pulse gently.
 - Serve or Store: Let the applesauce cool to room temperature before serving. Alternatively, store the applesauce in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 3 days.
 
NOTES
- Apple Varieties: Pink Lady apples provide a balanced sweetness and tartness, but if you want a more tart sauce, Granny Smith is a great option.
